Hey everyone,
I’m excited to reopen my creative flow and writing here on Substack. It’s been just over 14 months since our second baby girl was born. Just like happened the first time, I have been wonderfully humbled and amazed by the intensity of bringing a new person into the world and the depth of growth, learning, and transformation that it has catalyzed in me as a dad.
I’m excited to write more about my experience of fatherhood in the future, but for now, I will just say I’m so deeply honored to be given the opportunity to play this role.
The past year has been a tumultuous one in many ways for our family, but we have leaned into that chaos together with open hearts and a conviction to trust the process. This has led to a deeper grounding in abundant love and joy than I have ever before experienced in my life.
I’ve never felt more clear that showing up fully for myself first, then for my marriage, and then for my two girls are far and away the most important jobs I will ever have.
As I step into a new chapter of my professional work and impact in the world, I couldn’t be more grateful to stand on the foundation of my blessedly sweet family life. And I am 100% at peace with allowing the unfolding of my professional dreams to flow at a pace that’s determined by putting that family foundation first.
That being said, there have also been some exciting updates for me on the professional front this past year. I’m excited to share more about that below.
A New Expression of Soulful Impact
I’m excited to share the launch of my new website for Soulful Impact. Really pleased with how it all came together. Check it out: https://soulfulimpact.co/
This site reflects an evolution in the focus of my work, which feels like an organic unfolding of where I’ve always been headed, and at the same time, something entirely new.
One piece that’s new is that I’m more open about my personal story, specifically around the fact that I come from intergenerational wealth. This feels vulnerable to name in public, but also feels needed. This aspect of my story has played an instrumental role in how I got here and why I’m doing this work.
Inheriting wealth has helped me find the willingness to boldly follow my dreams. I’m incredibly grateful for that, and for all the other ways my wealth supports my life, my family, and my work. I feel so damn lucky. And I dream of a future where so many more people get to have this kind of experience.
At the same time, this experience has shown me firsthand that our mainstream ideas of what wealth and success really mean leave much to be desired.
The truth is that outer resources and achievements are only one piece of the puzzle when it comes to true wealth and success — a smaller piece than what most people think. There is so much more that’s needed to lead a deeply joyful and fulfilling life, and to build a vibrant, healthy, fully-alive future.
Most of what’s missing in the mainstream idea of success has to do with the realm of our inner worlds.
How much we are living and leading from the deeper truth inside?
How well we are accessing and cultivating the inner riches we all inherently have as humans?
The focus of my work right now is on bridging that gap. I’m lit up by the coaching and guiding work I’m doing with visionary leaders who feel ready to evolve in this way. And I’m laying the groundwork for a broader community to emerge around this work over time.
The best part is, I’m far from being alone. There are so many inspiring people — including many of you — who are actively building a life and a future that rings true on the level of their souls. I feel like a singular drop, playing my own unique role in a planetary wave that is getting ready to remake the whole ocean. I couldn’t be more excited.
If this resonates, I’d love to hear from you. Let’s grow this movement together.
A New Home for the Podcast
For those of you who have been following along with the Soulful Impact podcast, I’m excited to share that I’ll begin releasing a new season of episodes soon.
The same theme of the show will continue: Illuminating a path to building a better world while living a life of fulfillment and freedom. The new season will also reflect a heightened focus on the “beyond traditional success” theme that I described stepping into above.
I also decided to migrate the show off Substack to keep this platform a focused space for writing. I’m sure I’ll share certain podcast episodes here from time to time, but if you want to keep track of all new releases as they come out, you can subscribe on your favorite podcasting platform here.
A New Professional License
In July of this year, I realized a dream that not too long ago would have seemed nearly impossible: I received a license from the State of Colorado to legally administer and facilitate with psilocybin mushrooms.
The psychedelic legalization movement is still very early and nascent, but it’s exciting to be on the forefront here in Colorado. There’s a lot that we as a state still have to figure out, but I’m proud to say that I actually feel pretty good about how we are doing so far.
My primary focus of work right now is coaching, but the psycho-spiritual ground from which I coach, teach, and guide is deeply influenced by the experiences I have had in altered states of awareness. Psychedelics make up one category of those experiences, alongside deep wilderness immersions, vision fasts, seated meditation, sound meditation, breathwork, yoga, prayer, ceremony, conversations with the animate world, deep emotional release work, parts work, and more.
I think these experiences are foundational to the journey of discovering who we really are, what we came to do in this life, and how we can realize goals such as true success and wealth. So it feels like a beautiful privilege to be able to offer them to people I work with, when they are ready and feel called, in a fully legal and above-board way.
That’s all I’ve got for now. Thanks so much for reading, and I look forward to sharing more with you soon.
All my best,
Brooks
